Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 1 ½ liters of milk
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 2 packets of vanilla sugar
  • 100 g sugar
  • 200 g poppy seeds, ground
  • 250 g almonds
  • 100 g desiccated coconut
  • 200 g raisins
  • 7 rolls

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 35 minutes

Polish poppy seed dessert

Cut the rolls into approximately 2 cm thick slices. Bring the milk, salt, sugar, and vanilla sugar to a boil in a saucepan, stirring constantly. Add the poppy seeds, almonds, desiccated coconut, and raisins and continue to simmer, stirring constantly, until the mixture reaches a slightly mushy consistency. Layer the dessert in a bowl, starting with the rolls on the bottom. Mix everything thoroughly. If the makowki is too dry, you can add a little more warm milk before serving.
