Marinated figs

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 300 ml wine, red, dry
  • 100 ml crème de cassis
  • 2 lemons
  • 200 g honey
  • 8 figs

Instructions

Working time approx. 35 minutes; Total time approx. 35 minutes

Combine red wine, liqueur, lemon juice, and honey in a saucepan and simmer over high heat, stirring continuously, for about 10 minutes. Wash the figs, pat dry, and cut twice in half from the top, but not all the way through. Place the figs in an ovenproof dish and pour over the syrup. Bake in a preheated oven at 160°C for about 15 minutes. Let cool and serve with vanilla ice cream.
