Marinated Tofu for Grilling

The perfect marinated tofu for grilling recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

for the marinade:

  • 2 tbsp Olive oil
  • 2 tsp Tomato paste
  • 2 tbsp Vinegar
  • 4 tbsp Soy sauce
  • 1 Pc. Garlic clove, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp Chilli flakes
  • 2 cm Ginger, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 0,5 tsp Pepper
  • 1 Msp Curry powder
  • 1 tbsp Agave syrup or honey
  1. Use a hand blender to puree the ingredients for the marinade until you have a homogeneous, thick sauce.
  2. Cut the tofu horizontally into approx. 1 cm thick “steaks” and leave to stand in the marinade for at least 1 – 2 hours. Then fry on both sides on the grill or in a grill pan. Brush again with a little marinade.
  3. Instead of slicing, you can also dice the tofu and then prepare it as a kind of shashlik skewer with vegetables.
  4. A variant with an Indian curry paste also tastes delicious. To do this, add about 1 – 2 tbsp. You can omit the curry powder, chilli flakes, ginger and garlic.
