Marinated Tofu for Grilling
The perfect marinated tofu for grilling recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
for the marinade:
- 2 tbsp Olive oil
- 2 tsp Tomato paste
- 2 tbsp Vinegar
- 4 tbsp Soy sauce
- 1 Pc. Garlic clove, finely chopped
- 1 tsp Chilli flakes
- 2 cm Ginger, finely chopped
- 1 tsp Salt
- 0,5 tsp Pepper
- 1 Msp Curry powder
- 1 tbsp Agave syrup or honey
- Use a hand blender to puree the ingredients for the marinade until you have a homogeneous, thick sauce.
- Cut the tofu horizontally into approx. 1 cm thick “steaks” and leave to stand in the marinade for at least 1 – 2 hours. Then fry on both sides on the grill or in a grill pan. Brush again with a little marinade.
- Instead of slicing, you can also dice the tofu and then prepare it as a kind of shashlik skewer with vegetables.
- A variant with an Indian curry paste also tastes delicious. To do this, add about 1 – 2 tbsp. You can omit the curry powder, chilli flakes, ginger and garlic.
