Marzipan cake with Nutella and cherries

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 3 eggs
  • 3 tbsp water
  • 125 g flour
  • 125 g sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 marzipan blanket (ready-made product)
  • 200 g marzipan paste
  • 1 jar of morello cherries (720 ml)
  • 1 small jar of jam (sour cherry jam)
  • 300g Nutella

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

For the batter, beat the eggs with the water until frothy. Stir in 125g flour, 125g sugar, and 1 teaspoon of baking powder. Pour the batter into a 26cm pan and bake at 200°C for 20 minutes. Let the base cool, then halve it horizontally. Melt 150g Nutella in the microwave and spread it on the bottom layer of the cake. Let it cool, then spread the jam on the Nutella. Halve some of the morello cherries and place them on the Nutella-jam layer. Heat 200g of marzipan in the microwave until spreadable, then spread it on the underside of the other cake layer. Melt 150g Nutella in the microwave and spread it on the marzipan. Place the two base halves on top, with the untreated side on top. Spread the jam on the top layer and spread the remaining morello cherries (halved) on top. Place the marzipan layer over the cake and trim off the excess. You can use this to decorate the cake, if you wish. The cake is now complete.
