Marzipan walnut macaroons

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 200 g marzipan paste
  • 50 g walnut kernels
  • 3 egg whites
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 125 g powdered sugar
  • 80 g desiccated coconut
  • 100 g dark chocolate coating

Instructions

Working time approx. 40 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 5 minutes

Place the marzipan in the freezer for about 10 minutes, then coarsely grate it. Chop the walnuts (do not grind them!). Beat the egg whites with a pinch of salt until stiff peaks form. Sprinkle in the powdered sugar. Mix the chopped walnuts, grated marzipan, and desiccated coconut, then fold into the beaten egg whites. Preheat oven to 180 degrees Celsius (350 degrees Fahrenheit). Use a spoon to place small heaps onto a baking sheet lined with baking paper (wafer paper works too), leaving some space between them, as the macarons tend to spread. Bake for about 20-25 minutes, until the macarons are lightly browned. Let cool, then decorate with the chocolate coating. Makes 40 macarons. 72 kcal per macaron.
