spicy-sweet milk drink according to a traditional Indian recipe

Crush the cardamom, cloves, pepper, fennel, anise, and cinnamon and add them to the boiling water. Add a little nutmeg. Finely chop the fresh ginger and add it. Let it steep on low heat for 15 minutes. Add the milk and bring back to a boil. Add the black tea and let it steep for 2-3 minutes. Strain everything through a sieve and sweeten with honey. Practical tips: – Make the spice mix in advance and use 1 tablespoon per cup (400 ml). – Freshly crushed spices have a more intense flavor. A rolling pin, saucer, or stone can be used as a substitute for the mortar. Health tips: – Honey retains its valuable enzymes if you only add it once the tea in the cup has cooled to drinking temperature (40°C). – Ceylon cinnamon from Sri Lanka is much healthier than the usual cassia cinnamon from China.
