Chai syrup

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 300 g sugar
  • 450 ml water
  • 1 tsp cloves
  • 1 tsp cardamom
  • 1 stalk(s) cinnamon
  • 1 piece(s) ginger, fresh, approx. 2 cm

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 10 minutes

for coffee or tea

Bring the sugar and water to a boil in a saucepan over medium heat. Peel and finely dice the ginger, finely chop the other spices, and stir everything into the sugar water. Reduce to syrupy consistency over low heat for about 15 minutes. Once cooled, the syrup is poured through a sieve into a sealable bottle. Store in a cool, dark place for about 6 months. This syrup can be used to sweeten coffee or tea. It tastes particularly good around Christmas. But we enjoy it year-round in our latte coffee.
