Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • ½ liter of milk
  • 2 tbsp rock sugar, brown
  • 1 tbsp black tea, fine-leaf, e.g. Assam or East Frisian blend
  • 3 carnations
  • 4 peppercorns, black
  • 1 piece(s) fresh ginger (approx. 3 cm)
  • ½ cinnamon stick(s)

Instructions

Working time approx. 5 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 5 minutes; Total time approx. 10 minutes

Peel and roughly chop the fresh ginger. Bring the milk to a boil with the rock sugar and spices, add the tea, and let it simmer for 1 minute while stirring. Then strain through a sieve and serve immediately. Tip: Top with whipped cream or a dash of rum.
