Instructions
Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 45 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour
Side dish to Mediterranean dishes
Peel the potatoes, halve or quarter them depending on their size, and place them in a pot with cold water and a little salt. Boil the potatoes for 30-40 minutes; they should almost fall apart. Drain the cooking water and briefly return the pot to the switched-off stovetop so that the remaining water evaporates. Add the milk and butter and mash the potatoes. The milk and butter quantities are approximate; feel free to adjust them to your taste. Season the mash with salt. Finely chop the garlic, stir it into the mashed potatoes at the end, and let it marinate briefly before serving. Goes very well with fish, for example a piece of pike-perch fried with the skin on.
