Mashed potatoes with green garlic

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 400 g potatoes
  • some salt
  • 20 g butter
  • 10 g garlic chives
  • 80 ml milk, more or less as needed
  • 1 pinch of barbecue spice

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Peel and wash the potatoes, and cut them into large cubes. Bring to a boil in salted water and simmer for about 20 minutes. Wash and finely chop the garlic chives. When the potatoes are tender, drain them, let them cool briefly, and then mash them with butter, garlic chives, barbecue seasoning, and milk. You may need to use a little more or less milk, depending on how creamy you like your mashed potatoes and the type of potato you have. I mostly use waxy potatoes. They go very well with meatballs, bratwurst, or schnitzel. We also serve them with salad.
