Matjes in Yogurt
The perfect matjes in yogurt recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
- 2 medium-sized Onion blue
- 2 medium-sized Onion
- 500 gr Yogurt 30%
- 1 medium Apple
- 1 bunch Chives fresh
- 4 Herring freshly cut fish
- 1 Lemon fresh
- 4 normal size from the glass Cucumber
- Salt pepper
- Peel all onions and cut into rings. Cut the cucumber into small pieces. Peel and core the apple and cut into small pieces.
- Put the yoghurt in a bowl (I use homemade yoghurt) it is also good with at least 3.5% fat. Now fold the sliced onion, cucumber and apple into the yogurt.
- Now chop the fresh chives on top and season with salt and pepper, add a little lemon juice and mix again. Now add the herring and cover with the yogurt. Now in the refrigerator and let it steep for at least 3 hours.
- Taste again before consumption! We also eat jacket potatoes. Fried potatoes are also good (also very good).
