Matjes Lord Nelson
The perfect matjes lord nelson recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
- 2 Apple
- 8 Herring fillets
- 1 a cup Cream
- Wild cranberries
- Or:
- Table horseradish
- Sugar
- Water the matjes fillets a little if necessary.
- Peel the apples, cut them into finger-thick slices and cut out the core.
- Briefly sauté the apple slices and leave to cool on a plate.
- Pat the herring fillets dry, roll them into rolls and place on the apple slice. (If necessary, pin it with a toothpick)
- Whip the cream until stiff and mix with the cranberry jam or horseradish and a little sugar.
- Put 1 – 2 tablespoons of cranberry cream (or horseradish cream) on each of the matjes rolls, garnish with a little cranberries and serve with freshly toasted white bread
