Matjes Salad According to Grandma’s Recipe

Ingredients
 

  • 6 Herring fillets
  • 1 Pickled cucumber
  • 1 Apple
  • 1 Onion
  • 2 tbsp Whipped cream
  • 2 tbsp Homemade mayonnaise
  • 1 Large lettuce leaves, preferably an iceberg lettuce
  • For the set:
  • Fresh cress

Instructions
 

  • Soak the matjes fillets, pat dry and cut into strips.
  • Cut the vegetables / fruit into strips and mix with the herring.
  • Mix the whipped cream and mayonnaise together and fold into the herringbone salad.
  • Place the lettuce leaf on a plate and arrange the matjes salad in it, garnish with cress and serve.
  • BON APPETITE !!!
