Matjes "Sylter style" with boiled potatoes

Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 8 herring fillets
  • 1 kg potatoes
  • 1 bunch of spring onions
  • 1 m.-sized apple
  • 500 ml natural yogurt
  • 500 ml dressing “Sylter style”
  • Herbs, fresh or frozen
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Rest time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 55 minutes

Clean the spring onions, slice them thinly, and set aside. For the dressing: Wash the apple, dice it, and mix it in a bowl with the yogurt and dressing. Add herbs of your choice and season with salt and pepper. Tip: If you like, you can also add pickled gherkin; I don’t like it that much. Cook the boiled potatoes. Arrange the herring and boiled potatoes on plates. Pour the dressing and spring onions over the herring and potatoes, and enjoy. A cool, light beer goes best with this! Enjoy!
