Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 6 Maultasche(n) (traditionally with pork)
  • 3 beefsteak tomatoes
  • 100 g cheese (gratin cheese with mozzarella)
  • 1 liter meat broth, instant
  • Fat for the mold
  • Herbs (thyme, basil, oregano)
  • chives

First, cut the Maultaschen into thin strips and simmer in the broth for about 15 minutes. In the meantime, slice or dice the tomatoes. Then drain the broth and layer the Maultaschen, tomato slices, and gratin cheese in a greased casserole dish. Season with thyme, basil, and oregano after each layer. Bake in a preheated oven at about 180°C for 15 minutes until golden brown. Garnish with chopped chives and serve. (Tip: This dish goes well with leaf salad and/or mashed potatoes.)
