Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 2 bags of 125 g basmati rice (e.g. from Uncle Ben’s)
- some salt
- 0.1 g saffron or 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 2 large vine tomatoes
- 1 small red chili pepper(s)
- 2 sprigs basil
Instructions
Working time approx. 5 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes
Supplement
Cook the basmati rice in boiling, lightly salted water with saffron or turmeric powder for 10 minutes. Trim, halve, deseed, and finely dice the vine tomatoes. Finely slice the chili pepper (deseed first if necessary). Rinse the basil, shake dry, and pick off the leaves. Transfer the basmati rice to a bowl, stir in the diced tomatoes and chili rings, and garnish with the basil leaves.
