Spread the love

Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 500 g minced beef
  • ½ cup fried onions
  • 4 tbsp cornmeal
  • 4 tbsp cranberries from the jar
  • 1 egg(s)
  • salt and pepper
  • 6 burger buns with sesame
  • 6 slices of cheese
  • 6 lettuce leaves
  • 6 tsp cranberries from the jar
  • fried onions
  • ketchup
  • some oil for frying

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes

Blend the ground beef, fried onions (reserve some for later), cornmeal, 4 tablespoons of cranberries, and the egg into a mash. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Add a little more cornmeal if necessary until the mash is firm enough to form the patties. Form the mash into 6 large, flat patties. Meanwhile, heat a little oil in a pan. Fry the patties until cooked through, initially on high heat. Then reduce the heat slightly and finish cooking the patties. Cut open the burger buns. Spread the bottoms with a little ketchup. Place a lettuce leaf on each and top with a slice of cheese. Then place the patty on top. Sprinkle some of the cranberries on the patty and sprinkle with some fried onions. Place the top of the burger bun on top. We always serve this with sweet potato wedges with sour cream dip. Enjoy!
