Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

These skewers are a typical street snack in Asia.

Cut the meat into approximately 7 cm long strips and marinate in the marinade made from soy sauce, lemon juice, rice wine, starch, salt, and sugar for about 30 minutes. Thread the meat onto wooden skewers. Heat oil in a pan and fry the skewers until they turn a nice brown color. Mix together the soy sauce, curry powder, peanut butter, salt, sugar, sesame oil, water, and starch and set aside. Chop the garlic, ginger, and chili pepper, fry in hot oil, and deglaze with the rice wine. Add the previously mixed ingredients to the wok and cook the sauce for about 3-5 minutes (the sauce shouldn’t thicken too much; thin with a little water if necessary). Arrange the skewers on a platter, pour the hot sauce over them, and serve immediately. Iceberg lettuce and tomatoes look quite attractive on the platter as garnish.
