Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 large onion(s)
  • 500 g tartar
  • 1 m.-sized egg(s)
  • 4 rolls
  • 8 slices of cheese (Edam)
  • 8 lettuce leaves, as desired
  • 4 large tomatoes
  • ketchup
  • Salt and pepper, black
  • marjoram
  • Paprika powder

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

quick snack on men’s night

Peel and finely chop the onion; add it to the tartar, add the egg, mix everything well, and season with the spices. Form the meat mixture into 8 meatballs. Halve the rolls, place a meatball on each, and press down. Place the rolls on the oven rack and bake at 220°C on the middle shelf for 13 minutes. Then place the cheese slices on top and return the rolls to the oven for another 2 minutes – the cheese should melt well! Serving suggestion: Place 2 half rolls on each plate lined with lettuce leaves and garnish with ketchup and quartered tomatoes.
