Ingredients for 2 servings:
- 250 g minced meat, mixed
- 3 tbsp breadcrumbs
- 1 egg(s), size M
- 1 garlic clove(s), very finely chopped
- ½ tsp cumin, freshly ground
- salt and pepper
- nutmeg
- some flour
- possibly water
- 1 tbsp rapeseed oil
- 40 g onion(s), finely diced
- 50 g red bell pepper(s), diced
- 40 g date(s), pitted, diced
- 200 g tomatoes, chopped, from the can
- 200 ml red wine, dry
- ½ tsp stock powder
- salt and pepper
- some sauce thickener

Mix the minced meat with the breadcrumbs, egg, and garlic thoroughly. Season with cumin, salt, pepper, and nutmeg. If the dough is still too firm, knead in 1-2 tablespoons of water. Form it into 10 equal-sized meatballs. For the sauce, heat the oil and sauté the diced onion until golden brown. Add the bell pepper and dates and sauté a little longer. Deglaze with red wine and tomatoes and season with stock powder, salt, and pepper. Lightly thicken with a sauce thickener. Coat the meatballs in flour and simmer gently in the sauce for about 15-20 minutes, stirring gently occasionally. Serve with rice.
