Meatballs in tomato sauce

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g minced meat
  • 2 cans of tomatoes
  • 1 box of cherry tomatoes
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 1 point herbs, Italian, frozen
  • 1 m.-sized onion(s)
  • 1 garlic clove(s)
  • 1 few breadcrumbs
  • possibly mustard, tomato paste
  • Tomato paste
  • oil
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Make a meatball mixture by combining the minced meat with egg, finely chopped onion, breadcrumbs, salt, pepper, and, if desired, a little mustard and tomato paste. Form into small balls (2-3 cm in diameter) and fry the meatballs in a pan with hot oil until browned all over. Meanwhile, puree the canned tomatoes and heat with the herbs and chopped garlic. Quarter the cherry tomatoes and add them. Simmer the sauce for a few minutes and season with salt and pepper. Drain the cooked meatballs on kitchen paper and let them rest in the sauce for a short while. Serve with pasta.
