Meatballs with Cheddar

Spread the love

Ingredients for 3 servings:

  • 600 g minced meat
  • 1 large onion(s)
  • 100 g Cheddar cheese, grated
  • 3 tsp spice mix for minced meat
  • breadcrumbs
  • 400 ml cream
  • 200 g mushrooms
  • Oil for frying or butter

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes

Peel and halve the onion, finely dice one half and half the other half into half rings. Clean and slice the mushrooms. Place the minced meat in a bowl, add the diced onion, the breadcrumbs (add enough to make a good mixture), the grated Cheddar cheese, and 1-2 teaspoons of the seasoning mix (available everywhere. Alternatively, you can season with salt, pepper, paprika, garlic, and a pinch of mustard). Knead everything together and form about 15 small balls. Fry in a pan with hot oil or butter for about 5 minutes on all sides. Remove the meatballs from the pan. Add the onion rings and mushrooms to the pan and fry lightly, deglaze with cream, and season with a teaspoon of the seasoning mix. Add the meatballs and simmer, covered, for about 10 minutes. This goes very well with mashed potatoes.
