Meatballs with peppers

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g minced meat, mixed
  • 1 roll
  • 2 m.-sized onion(s)
  • 1 bell pepper(s)
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 2 tsp mustard
  • 2 tsp chervil
  • 2 tsp garlic
  • 2 tsp sweet paprika powder
  • 2 tsp basil or fresh about 15 leaves
  • 3 tbsp cornstarch
  • salt and pepper
  • e.g. milk
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes

Cut the bread roll into small pieces and soak in a little milk. Finely dice the peppers and onions. First, sauté the peppers in a pan with a little oil for about 5 minutes, adding a little salt. Then add the onions and sauté until translucent. Place in a bowl to cool. Finely chop the fresh herbs and add to the cooled vegetables, along with the minced meat, egg, and spices. Squeeze the bread roll a little and mix well with the other ingredients. Add starch for a better binding, depending on the consistency. Then form balls and fry them in a pan over medium heat for about 5 minutes on each side.
