Ingredients for 12 servings:

  • 800 g potatoes, floury
  • 1 onion(s)
  • 4 tbsp cream
  • 4 egg yolks
  • 4 tbsp potato flour
  • 3 egg whites
  • ¼ tsp thyme
  • ¼ tsp marjoram
  • ¼ tsp oregano

tasty alternative to potato gratin

Wash the potatoes, cook in their skins, and allow them to cool slightly. Peel and press them through a potato ricer. Separate the eggs and dice the onion. Mix the egg yolks, diced onion, cream, potato flour, and herbs with the mashed potatoes. Beat the egg whites until stiff and carefully fold them into the potato mixture with a spoon. Grease the muffin tin well and divide the potato mixture evenly among 12 cases. Bake in a preheated oven on the middle rack at 180 degrees C for about 30-40 minutes. Serve warm with the main course or as a main course with salad.
