Mettbrötchen with Esrom

Spread the love

Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 1.2 kg Mett (e.g. Thuringian style)
  • 1 package of cheese (Esrom)
  • 3 bell peppers, red and yellow
  • 1 onion(s)
  • 2 packs of ready-made salad dressing mix (Salatkrönung Paprika)
  • 12 rolls
  • salt and pepper
  • Garlic
  • Paprika powder

Instructions

Working time approx. 35 minutes; Total time approx. 35 minutes

Cut the rolls open and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F). Dice the bell peppers and cheese, and finely chop the onion. In a large bowl, mix the minced meat, finely chopped onion, diced bell peppers, and diced cheese well. Drizzle a little olive oil over the mixture to make it a little smoother. Add 1-2 packets of ready-made “Paprika” salad dressing mix to the mixture and mix well or fold in with your hands. Finally, season the meat and vegetable mixture with a little pepper, garlic, paprika, and similar ingredients (as desired). Spread the well-mixed mixture evenly onto the roll halves using a spoon and your hands (it will be very mushy!). If you like, you can also use any unused Esrom slices for gratinating. Place the tray in the oven and bake for about 20 minutes, until the mixture is lightly browned. Serve hot! Enjoy with a mixed salad or simply on its own!
