like feta in aluminum foil, but without turning on the oven
Thanks to TRND’s market research, I got the Toppits steamer bags. I thought about things I rarely prepare because they take too long, and I came up with baked feta. It’s not in any of the recipe booklets, but it was worth a try, and it works wonderfully. Thinly slice the onion, half the bell pepper into strips, slice the tomatoes, and deseed and finely chop the chili pepper. Add 2 tablespoons of water to the bag. Spread half the onions on the bottom of the bag (there’s a definite bottom!). Sprinkle the feta cheese with chili pieces and herbs, place the bell pepper strips on top, stack the tomato slices on top, and cover with the remaining onions. Finally, season with pepper and olive oil (or a little salt if you like), place the stack in the bag, and seal the bag. Balance it in the microwave and rotate for 3 minutes and 30 seconds at 800 W. Put everything on a plate, serve with two fresh rolls and one person has a light dinner or two have an appetizing starter.
