Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 1 bell pepper(s), green, cut into strips
- 1 red bell pepper(s), cut into strips
- 1 vegetable onion(s), cut into strips
- 1 cup of cream, 200 g
- 1 tsp sugar
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 pinch(s) of cayenne pepper
- 1 pinch of garlic granules (not essential)
- some tomato ketchup for the color, the sauce should not be so pale
- 1 tbsp butter
- e.g. sauce thickener or flour
Instructions
Working time approx. 10 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 day 1 hour; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 1 day 1 hour 30 minutes
Place the onion in a microwave dish. Add salt, sugar, cayenne pepper, garlic, and butter. Sprinkle the bell peppers on top. Microwave everything for about 15 minutes at full power (600 W). Remove from the microwave, stir in the cream and ketchup. Bring everything back to a boil and season to taste. Thicken slightly with flour or a sauce thickener, if desired. The sauce freezes well. It goes very well with breaded or unbreaded schnitzels. It also tastes delicious with gyro strips. Place the cooked strips in a baking dish, pour the sauce over them, and sprinkle with cheese. Bake everything in the oven.
