Microwave roasted almonds

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 200 g almonds, unpeeled
  • 4 tbsp brown sugar (not white, it gets too hot!!!)
  • 2 ½ tbsp water (no more, otherwise it will be too sticky)
  • 1 tsp cinnamon

Instructions

Working time approx. 6 minutes; Total time approx. 6 minutes

takes just under 6 minutes

In a microwave bowl (it has to be for cooking, not heating; I always use a Tupperware container), melt the sugar, cinnamon, and water for 1 minute at 600 watts. Add the almonds, stir, and microwave for 2 minutes. Remove from the microwave, stir again, and then microwave for another 2 minutes. Remove from the microwave, stir, and let cool on a baking sheet. Tip: Instead of 2 1/2 tablespoons of water, use only 1 1/2 tablespoons of water and 1 tablespoon of Amaretto. 🙂 It also tastes good with vanilla flavoring instead of cinnamon. 🙂
