Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 24 dried red chili peppers (spicy to your taste)
  • 2 tbsp lard (beef lard)
  • 2 garlic cloves, finely chopped
  • 2 onions, finely diced
  • 2 tbsp flour, for binding
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp oregano
  • 240 ml tomato juice

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 20 minutes

The fiery alternative to the classic currywurst with fries

Place the chilies in a pot and simmer with just enough water to cover for half an hour. Then puree the chilies and water with a hand blender. In another pot, sauté the beef lard, onions, and garlic. Add flour to thicken and quickly whisk into a soft paste. Now mix the chili paste. Add the tomato juice and spices and simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
