Mild, low-fat cooked cheese made from Harzer cheese

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 200 g Harzer cheese
  • 150 ml milk, 0.3% fat
  • 350 g low-fat curd cheese
  • ½ tsp salt
  • chili powder
  • pepper
  • garlic powder
  • Caraway seeds
  • rosemary
  • nutmeg

Working time approx. 5 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Cut the Harzer cheese into the smallest possible pieces and melt it in the skimmed milk over medium heat, stirring constantly. Add the salt and your choice of spices; chili and garlic go very well. Once the cheese has completely dissolved, add the low-fat quark to the pot and stir in. Heat briefly and then pour the mixture into two jam or honey jars. The mixture will be quite runny when hot, but will thicken and become very creamy as it cools. Store the spreadable cheese in the refrigerator. It tastes delicious on gluten bread.
