Minced meat and rice casserole

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 400 g minced meat
  • 2 onions
  • 4 garlic cloves
  • 1 large can of tomatoes, peeled
  • 200 g rice
  • 350 ml broth
  • 1 cup crème fraîche
  • 1 pack of cheese, grated
  • salt and pepper
  • oregano
  • oil

Instructions

Working time approx. 25 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 45 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 10 minutes

Peel and finely dice the onions and garlic, fry in hot oil, add the minced meat and cook until cooked through. Season with salt and pepper and generously season with oregano. Add the chopped tomato pulp, rice, and stock, and let the rice swell slightly. Place everything in a shallow casserole dish, cover, and bake in the oven at 175°C for 30 minutes. Mix the crème fraîche and grated cheese, season with salt and pepper, and pour over the casserole. Bake uncovered for another 15 minutes, until the surface is golden brown.
