Minced meat casserole with white cabbage

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 kg white cabbage
  • 500 g minced meat
  • 1 large onion(s)
  • 4 garlic cloves
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 1 bread roll, dry
  • 50 g crème fraîche
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tsp mustard
  • vegetable broth
  • salt and pepper
  • chili powder
  • oregano
  • Thyme
  • 200 g cheese, grated

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 1 hour 10 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 40 minutes

Cut the white cabbage into strips and pre-cook in vegetable stock for about 10 minutes. Soak the bread roll in water. Peel the onion and garlic and finely dice. Add the squeezed-out bread roll, crème fraîche, egg, onion, garlic, tomato paste, mustard, and seasoning to the minced meat mixture and mix well. Drain the cabbage strips, mix with the raw minced meat mixture, and transfer to a baking dish. Sprinkle the mixture with cheese and bake in the oven at 200°C (400°F) for 1 hour. This goes well with boiled potatoes or mashed potatoes.
