Minced meat rolls with paprika sauce

Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 1 garlic clove(s)
  • 500 g minced meat, mixed
  • 3 tbsp breadcrumbs
  • 2 eggs
  • ½ tbsp tomato paste
  • e.g. salt and pepper
  • some oil
  • 2 onions
  • 5 bell peppers
  • 600 ml vegetable stock
  • 4 tbsp ajvar
  • 3 tbsp double cream cheese
  • 2 bags of rice

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 35 minutes

Peel and dice the garlic, and mix with the minced meat, breadcrumbs, eggs, and tomato paste. Season with salt and pepper and knead into a smooth meat dough. Form the meat dough into about 12 rolls. Heat the oil in a pan and fry the meat rolls until browned all over, then remove and keep warm. Peel, halve, and slice the onions. Trim and dice the bell pepper. Heat the oil in a saucepan and sauté the bell peppers and onions. Deglaze with stock and simmer for about 10 minutes. Stir the ajvar and cream cheese into the bell pepper sauce, heat briefly (do not boil), and season with salt and pepper. Cook the rice according to the package instructions and serve with the meat rolls and the bell pepper sauce.
