Minced meat – spinach – puff pastry roll

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 pc. puff pastry
  • 250 g minced meat, mixed
  • 250 g leaf spinach
  • 100 g herb cream cheese
  • 50 g feta cheese
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 m.-sized onion(s)
  • lemon juice
  • salt and pepper
  • Paprika powder, sweet

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Peel the onion and dice it. Season the minced meat mixture with salt, pepper, and sweet paprika. Blanch the spinach leaves briefly in salted water over medium heat, drain, and cut into small pieces. Heat a pan with oil and fry the minced meat and onions. After a few minutes, add the spinach and drizzle with a little lemon juice. Remove from the heat and let cool. Roll out the puff pastry and spread the cream cheese in the center. Spread the minced meat and spinach mixture on top. Dice the feta and spread it on top of the minced meat and spinach mixture. Brush the edges of the pastry with egg yolk. Fold the pastry over the minced meat mixture and bake on a baking sheet lined with baking paper in a preheated oven at 180°C for 15-20 minutes. Serve with fresh potato salad or, if desired, offer tomato sauce for the puff pastry roll.
