Mini Tube Noodles / Plait

The perfect mini tube noodles / plait recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 100 ml Milk
  • 50 g Sugar
  • 50 g Butter
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 0,5 dice Yeast fresh
  • 1 Egg
  • 300 g Flour
  1. Heat the milk and place in a bowl. Add the butter, sugar, yeast, a pinch of salt and the egg to the milk and stir well. I make the dough in my Emil (Thermomix) and then I heat the mixture for 2 minutes at 37 degrees. Add flour and knead everything well …… I let knead 🙂 🙂
  2. Shape the dough into a ball in the bowl and let it rise. The Thermomix owners leave it in the pot right away because it’s nice and warm and it rises very nicely.
  3. Knead the dough again and form mini balls, about 11/2 to 2 cm small balls, if you want you can put a dollop of jam in the middle. Put in a buttered casserole dish or on a baking sheet and let rise again. Brush with melted butter and bake for about 15 minutes at 170 degrees.
  4. I served the small cane noodles with powdered sugar and vanilla sauce. Of course, you can also shape larger balls and bake them longer.
  5. Mostly I make double the amount and make a braid out of it, sometimes with and sometimes without nuts 🙂 🙂 sometimes small nut snails etc ……..
