Ingredients for 12 servings:
- 700 g flour
- 1 cube of yeast
- 200 ml milk, lukewarm
- 2 tsp salt
- ½ tsp thyme, dried
- ½ tsp rosemary, dried
- ½ tsp oregano, dried

Sift the flour and make a well. Crumble the yeast into the milk and stir until dissolved. Pour the mixture into the well in the flour and let it rise for 30 minutes. Add the salt and herbs to the flour and knead all ingredients until a smooth dough forms. If the dough is sticky, add a little more flour. Form the dough into a ball and let it rise for another 60 minutes; it should double in size. After 60 minutes, knead the dough briefly again and then divide it into 12 equal pieces. Roll each piece into 30 cm long strands and wrap them spirally around the wooden sticks. Grill over glowing charcoal, turning frequently. Tip: The slower the bread cooks, the better it tastes…
