Mozzarella Packets on Steamed Chard Bed

The perfect mozzarella packets on steamed chard bed recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 1,5 bunch Swiss chard
  • 2 Pc. Shallots
  • 1 Pc. Clove of garlic
  • 5 Pc. Buffalo mozzarella balls
  • 1 pinch Pepper
  • 1 bunch Basil
  • 120 g Black Forest ham
  • 3 tbsp Oil
  • 1 pinch Sugar
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 1 pinch Nutmeg
  1. Wash the chard and cut into small pieces. Peel shallots and garlic and dice finely.
  2. Drain the mozzarella balls, cut in half, season with pepper and wrap first with basil, then with 2 slices of ham per ball.
  3. Sauté the onions and garlic in 2 tablespoons of hot oil, add the chard (first the firmer stalk parts, shortly after the leaves) and let them collapse, covered. Season with sugar, salt, pepper and nutmeg.
  4. Heat 1 tbsp oil again in a hot pan. Fry the mozzarella packets in it for 1-2 minutes on each side. Spread the chard on a plate and arrange the mozzarella packets on top.
