Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 4 slices of toast
  • 6 slices of mozzarella
  • 4 basil leaves
  • 2 tomatoes, sliced
  • Pepper, fresh from the pepper mill
  • some mustard
  • olive oil

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 10 minutes

Spread two slices of toast with mustard. Top each with three slices of mozzarella and season generously with pepper. Add 2-3 basil leaves (depending on the size) and finally 1-2 slices of tomato. Spread a second slice of toast with mustard, place it on top of the tomato, and press down lightly. Add a little olive oil to the pan and fry the filled toast on all sides until dark brown. The temperature shouldn’t be too high, otherwise the inside will remain cold. Serve with a green salad. Tip: You can also cut the finished toast into small triangles and serve on a plate with mixed salad as a small snack or as an appetizer.
