Mulled wine jelly without alcohol

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 0.7 liters of grape juice, red
  • 1 organic orange(s)
  • 5 carnations
  • 2 stalk(s) cinnamon
  • 3 star anise
  • 500 g gelling sugar 2:1

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Rest time approx. 2 hours; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 2 hours 40 minutes

Tastes as good as real wine

First, pour the grape juice into a saucepan. Wash the organic orange in hot water, then thinly slice the peel with a vegetable peeler and add it to the grape juice. Slice the orange and add it as well. Now add the cloves, cinnamon sticks, and anise and turn on the stove. Bring everything to a boil, then let it cool on the stovetop with the lid closed so the flavors can infuse into the juice. I let my “mulled wine” stand for about 3 hours. Stir the gelling sugar into the cold liquid. Bring to a boil while stirring and boil gently for about 3 minutes. Now just pour into clean (possibly oven-sterilized) twist-off jars! It’s a great, quick gift, especially during the Christmas season. You can try all of it without the alcohol! The mulled wine jelly tastes delicious spread on a piece of bread, but also with cake or ice cream. The aroma while cooking is also unique.
