Favorite mulled wine

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 bottle of wine, red or white
  • 150 ml water
  • 50 g cane sugar
  • 2 stalk(s) cinnamon
  • 4 cloves
  • 1 m.-sized orange(s)
  • 1 medium-sized lemon(s)
  • 10 peppercorns

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Mulled wine aromatic delicious fruity

Combine the wine, water, sugar, and spices in a saucepan and stir until the sugar dissolves. It’s better to add more sugar to taste rather than adding too much at first. Don’t let it get too hot, or the flavor will be lost. Slice the orange and lemon and add to the wine. Let it steep over low heat for about 10 minutes. For children or anyone driving, simply replace the wine with cloudy apple juice. It tastes fruity and, without the added sugar, isn’t too sweet.
