Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 kg potatoes, floury
  • 200 ml milk
  • 50 g butter
  • 1 pinch of nutmeg
  • 4 m.-sized onion(s)
  • 8 slice(s) black pudding (dark sausage bread)
  • e.g. applesauce
  • some butter for frying
  • Salt for the water

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 50 minutes

Peel the potatoes, roughly dice them, and boil them in salted water for 20-25 minutes. Slice the onions and fry them in a little butter until golden brown. Heat the milk and 50g butter in a saucepan. Drain the potatoes and gently mash them with the hot butter-milk mixture. Season with a little nutmeg. Remove the tough skin from the sausage bread slices and fry them in a hot pan with butter for about 2 minutes on each side. Don’t overcook them, or they’ll become too dry. The slices will turn almost black. Serve everything with applesauce.
