Kasseler stew with potato dumplings

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • some butter
  • 1 pack of Schupfnudeln, approx. 500 g
  • 350 g smoked pork
  • 1 bag of sauerkraut, approx. 500 g
  • 250 ml milk
  • 2 tsp nutmeg, freshly grated
  • 1 tsp pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 35 minutes

Melt some butter in a saucepan. Add the potato dumplings and fry thoroughly. Meanwhile, cut the smoked pork into small cubes, then add and fry. Add the sauerkraut and heat everything thoroughly. Finally, add the milk until smooth. Season with pepper and nutmeg. The stew tastes best when left to simmer overnight and served the next day.
