Mushroom baguettes

Ingredients for 3 servings:

  • 6 baguette(s) – rolls or other small rolls for finishing baking
  • 1 cup of crème fraîche with herbs (regular or light)
  • 200 g mushrooms, fresh
  • 75 g ham, diced
  • 50 g cheese, (Gouda) grated
  • Salt
  • possibly pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 25 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 35 minutes

To finish baking, remove the rolls from the plastic bag and pre-bake in the oven at 200°C (180°C fan-assisted oven). In the meantime, clean the mushrooms and cut them into small cubes, roughly the same size as the finished ham cubes. Mix the mushrooms and ham with the crème fraîche and add a little salt and pepper to taste. Remove the rolls from the oven and cut them in half. Spread with the cream and sprinkle with cheese. Bake at 200°C or 180°C for 5 to 10 minutes, until the pastry is brown and crispy and the cheese has melted. Delicious hot or cold. Tip: I put baking paper under the rolls so I don’t have to wash the baking sheet.
