Finely dice the onion, wash and trim the bell pepper, and roughly slice it into strips. Sauté both in a little fat, cover, and simmer over low heat for about 15 minutes, until the bell peppers are soft. Meanwhile, clean and quarter the mushrooms, and fry them over high heat in a little fat until tender. Season with salt and pepper, adding a little liquid if desired. For the sauce, puree the bell pepper and onion mixture, then stir in the cream and season with salt and pepper. Add the sauce to the mushrooms and serve with rice or spaetzle, for example.
