Ingredients for 2 servings:
- 500 g mushrooms (other mushrooms will also work)
- 1 small onion(s)
- 1 clove(s) garlic
- 500 ml milk, possibly more
- 2 tbsp, leveled flour
- 50 g butter
- 1 pack of herbs, e.g. parsley, chives
- 4 slices of toast
- 1 dashes lemon juice
- 1 pinch(s) of sugar
- salt and pepper
- some butter for the toast
Instructions
Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 50 minutes
Clean the mushrooms and halve or quarter them, depending on their size. Peel the onion and garlic and dice them very finely. Melt the butter in a pan and fry the mushrooms vigorously for around ten minutes, then remove and keep warm. Briefly sweat the onion and garlic in the remaining frying fat, sprinkle with flour and let it turn golden brown. Pour in the cold milk and stir. Make sure that no lumps form. Simmer for a few minutes until it forms a sauce. Add the herbs and do not allow to boil any further. Season with sugar, lemon juice, salt and pepper. Add the mushrooms again, mix well with the sauce and let it stand for a few minutes. In the meantime, toast the toast, spread a very thin layer of butter on it and arrange everything together nicely on a flat plate. P.S. It also tastes good if the toast is toasted in a pan with butter. Note: If there are four people/portions, only use one onion, otherwise it will be too much or the onions will be really small.
