New Orleans Fritters
The perfect new orleans fritters recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
- 360 g Flour
- 65 g Sugar
- 2 tsp Baking powder
- 0,5 tsp Baking soda
- 0,5 tsp Salt
- 0,5 tsp Nutmeg
- 120 ml Milk
- 120 ml Natural yoghurt
- 80 ml Water
- 1 Egg
- 1 tsp Vanilla sugar
- Oil
- Powdered sugar
- In a bowl, mix 2/3 flour with sugar, baking powder, salt, baking soda and a pinch of nutmeg.
- In a larger bowl, stir the milk with the yoghurt, water, vanilla sugar and the whisked egg quickly and gradually add the flour mixture.
- Place the remaining flour on a countertop. Place the dough on top and shape into small squares (5cm wide and 1cm high). If they are too sticky, add a little flour to help.
- Fry the fritters in warm oil for approx. 3 minutes on each side, remove and place on kitchen paper. Sprinkle with powdered sugar.
