Apple Rings with Vanilla Sauce

The perfect apple rings with vanilla sauce recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

For the apple rings

  • 80 g Flour
  • 1 Msp Baking powder
  • 1 Egg
  • 0,5 Vanilla pod
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 4 Apples
  • 0,5 tsp Cinnamon
  • 4 tbsp Sugar
  • Oil for deep-frying

For the vanilla sauce

  • 0,5 Vanilla pod
  • 3 dl Milk
  • 20 g Sugar
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 tbsp Cornstarch

Apple rings

  1. Mix the flour, baking powder, egg, milk, scraped vanilla pulp and salt into a liquid dough. Peel the apples and cut out the core. Cut the apples into slices about ½ – 1 cm thick. Heat the oil. Dip the apple slices into the batter, drain them a little and fry them in portions in hot oil until golden brown. Drain the apple rings on kitchen paper and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar.

Vanilla sauce

  1. Cut the vanilla pod lengthways and scrape out the pulp. Warm both in the milk and let it steep for 5 minutes over the lowest heat. Remove the vanilla pod. Whisk the sugar, egg and cornstarch together. Pour in the vanilla milk while stirring. Pour everything back into the pan. Heat the vanilla sauce until just before the boiling point, stirring constantly. Take the pan off the heat and stir briefly. Pour the sauce through a sieve into a bowl. To cool down, put a cling film directly on top of it so that no skin can form.
