Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 2 eggs
  • 170 g sugar, brown, coarse
  • 250 g butter, room temperature
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 375 g flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 4 drops of bitter almond oil
  • 15 drops butter-vanilla flavoring
  • 200 g chocolate, diced

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 12 minutes; Total time approx. 32 minutes

Simply combine all of the ingredients in a large mixing bowl, except for the baking powder, which must first be mixed with the flour before adding it to the bowl. Briefly mix everything with a hand mixer or food processor until a dough forms. The dough should be crumbly and slightly sticky, so don’t knead it into a thick ball; leave it as it is. If it forms peaks, simply add a little more flour and mix again. Preheat the oven to 180°C (fan). Line two baking sheets with baking paper and use two spoons to create small, flattened mounds, about 6 cm in diameter and 1 cm thick. Leave enough space between them, as they will spread out a little. Avoid shaping them with your hands, as only spoons will give you the perfect, rough surface. Bake in the preheated oven on the middle rack for about 11-13 minutes. Important: As soon as the edges start to brown, remove them from the baking sheet. Let them cool completely on the baking sheet. They’re very soft at first, which is intentional. But they harden quickly. Note: Caramel cubes, marshmallow cubes, nuts, or even cocoa powder can also be added to this recipe. Or, for a trendy twist: Salted Caramel Crunch.
