Ingredients for 35 servings:
- 2,500 g pork (shoulder)
- 1,000 g smoked pork loin
- 1 kg bell pepper(s)
- 1 can of mushrooms
- 3 large onions
- 3 large potatoes
- 1 jar vegetables (Spreewald Letcho)
- oil
- salt and pepper
- Mustard
Instructions
Working time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour
First, cook the smoked pork in a large pot with plenty of water. Smoked pork doesn’t need seasoning, just boil. In the meantime, slice the pork, peel and slice the onions, slice the bell peppers, and drain the mushrooms. Then brown the meat. Season with salt, pepper, and mustard. When the smoked pork is done, you can slice the mustard and fry it with the pork. Save the stock! Once the meat is nicely seared, i.e., slightly browned, add the onions, mushrooms, and bell peppers. Brown again, then deglaze with the smoked pork stock and bring to a boil. Next, add the jar of letcho (definitely Spreewald style for flavor) and the potato pieces. The whole thing needs to simmer for at least an hour or more; the letcho must be cooked through! Season again with salt and pepper at the end! Serve with fresh white bread!
