Dutch oven with minced meat

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 30 g fat
  • 200 g onion(s)
  • 300 g minced meat, mixed
  • 1 can of tomatoes
  • 1 bell pepper(s)
  • 300 g potatoes
  • 1 garlic clove(s)
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp paprika powder
  • 1 liter of broth
  • 30 g spaetzle or other noodles
  • 2 gherkins, diced
  • Cayenne pepper
  • Caraway seeds

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Peel and dice the onions and potatoes. Trim and slice the bell pepper. Heat the fat and fry the minced meat and diced onion. Add the tomatoes, strips of bell pepper, diced potatoes, and seasonings and fry briefly. Top up with broth and simmer for about 25 minutes. Then add the spaetzle and cook for another 10 minutes. Just before serving, stir in the gherkin and season again. Serve immediately.
